Is 12mm polycarbonate bulletproof?
No. Even at 12mm, monolithic polycarbonate is not a certified bullet-resistant (UL 752) product on its own — UL 752-rated ballistic glazing uses laminated assemblies around 1 inch (25mm) or thicker. 12mm ULTRATUF is genuinely impact- and forced-entry-resistant, which is the accurate claim, and it is the strongest solid sheet we stock.
How much does 12mm polycarbonate sheet weigh?
Approximately 2.95 lbs per square foot — roughly 35% heavier than 9mm. A full 4' x 8' sheet is around 94 lbs, so plan on two people for handling and installation, though it remains dramatically lighter than glass at the same thickness.
